Seniors are a celebrated part of our community. In 2019, the City of Cold Lake proudly hosted the Alberta 55+ Winter Games with over 800 senior athletes in attendance from across the province competing for their provincial titles.

Seniors' Week is celebrated in June every year. Together with local community partners, the week is filled with different events and intergenerational activities for seniors and their families. A regional response team to combat elder abuse, CREAT is accessed through Cold Lake and District FCSS. For more information, please call 780-594-4495.
On October 1, we celebrate the International Day of Older Persons by raising awareness about issues affecting the elderly. It is also a day to appreciate the contributions our seniors give to our society. On October 3, the Cold Lake and District FCSS will be holding a pie social to celebrate local seniors and their contribution to our community.
