There are two common types of infraction tickets issued in Cold Lake and options for paying the fine depend on the type of ticket you received.
If you received a ticket for violating a City of Cold Lake Bylaw, it must be paid in person at the front counter of City Hall. Bylaw infraction tickets are yellow in colour, contain the City of Cold Lake logo and are issued by Peace Officers or Bylaw Officers. Payment for bylaw violations is due thirty (30) days from the date the ticket was issued. At this time, we do not accept payments by mail.
If you received a provincial (Government of Alberta) violation ticket, there are several options for fine payment. Provincial violation tickets are yellow or pink in colour and have the words "Province of Alberta" printed at the top. They are issued by RCMP officers or provincial law enforcement officers including Alberta Sheriffs, Fish and Wildlife Officers, Park Rangers and others. City of Cold Lake Peace Officers also have the authority to issue provincial tickets for violation of some provincial laws, including those under the Alberta Traffic Safety Act. Fine payment for provincial violation tickets is due by the court date listed on the ticket. Payment can be made:
