The official holiday season kicks off this November 29 as The City of Cold Lake hosts its annual Santa Claus Parade, featuring none other than the Big Man in Red. Local businesses, sports groups or non-profit organizations are encouraged to register early and get a head start on building your float.
Once Santa has made his way through downtown, follow him all the way to the Cold Lake Energy Centre for our Kick Off to Christmas Party. This event is free of charge and open to everyone. Bring your camera and get a quick photo with Santa before you enjoy all the fun activities. There will be sparkle tattoos, a station to write your letter to Santa, and other fun and games.
Photos from the parade will be posted to The City's Facebook page and the public will be given the opportunity to vote for the best float. Awards are given for two categories; Businesses and Non-Profit.
A special ceremony will be held for the winners were prizes will be awarded and photos with our Mayor and City Council members.
The Parade will begin on the east side of HWY 28, with all floats lining up on the 55th St. access road. Its first come, first served for the parade float order as there is no set positions for participants.
