Neighbourhood Block Party Program
We're working to build communities one block at a time. Cold Lake residents, on behalf of their neighbourhood, can apply for funding of up to $150 per year to throw a Neighbourhood Block Party!
It seems to be a growing trend that relationships in many neighbourhoods are becoming less personal than they were years ago. This could be from families becoming more transient, children becoming more involved in activities away from home or an increase in both parents working. A Neighbourhood Block Party is a great way to improve connections or build relationships with your neighbours. Block Parties are a great way for neighbours to share an evening of fun, food and entertainment. Remember that as friendships grow, so do safe and caring neighbourhoods.
Important forms:
- Neighbourhood Block Party Application Form
- Neighbourhood Block Party Reimbursement Form
- Neighbourhood Block Party Poster
- Equipment Loan Out For Community Events Form
On the registration form, applicants can request to use the popcorn machine, garbage and recycling bins, and an activity bag. The activity bags contain a soccer ball, basketball, bean bag toss, lawn darts, and badminton rackets with a net.
Wondering if there's a party happening in your neighbourhood, or if there's ever been one before? Call Cold Lake and District FCSS to find out at 780-594-4495.
