Every August, the City coordinates a city-wide network of garage sales, yard sales and sidewalk sales, where families and businesses can take advantage of free advertising and a huge influx of visitors to sell their treasures.
The City Wide Sale is back for another year.

What is the City-Wide Sale? |
It's a chance for Cold Lake residents and business owners to hold a garage, yard, or sidewalk sale while taking advantage of free advertising on the City-Wide Sale website, and the huge influx of visitors who come to Cold Lake specifically to go bargain hunting! |
How does it work? |
First, you'll register your address and some general information about your sale here on the City-Wide Sale website. City staff will approve each submission and add the address to the online map. You'll be provided a lawn sign and your address will be visible on the map. |
Is there a cost to participate? |
No, the City-Wide Sale is absolutely free! It's a great opportunity to meet your neighbours and earn a few bucks! After all, one person's trash is another person's treasure! |
Who can participate? |
To be a seller, your home or business must be located within the City of Cold Lake's corporate limits. Unfortunately, residents of the M.D. of Bonnyville, Cold Lake First Nations and Elizabeth Metis Settlement cannot register as sellers. Cold Lake residents or business owners must own the property on which they are holding the sale, or have permission from the property owner. |
How do businesses participate? |
Businesses must offer a sale or promotion beyond regular bulk discounts, sales, or existing coupons created independently of the City-Wide Sale. Simply advertising a business’s regular services or products will not be allowed. The business must provide proof that it has organized a separate sale or promotion specifically for the City-Wide Sale. |
When will my sale be visible on the website? |
Submissions from residents and businesses will be visible on the online map starting Friday, August 16. |
When and where can I pick up my lawn sign? |
A limited number of signs will be available for pickup (first come, first served) from the Energy Centre and City Hall starting August 15, 2023. Sellers can also print their own signs using the templates at the top of this page. |
What if I can only participate for one of the days? |
No problem. When you're filling out the registration form, it will ask whether your sale will be held Saturday, Sunday, or both days. Choose the day(s) that you can participate. On the online map:

What if I have to cancel? |
No problem. If you can no longer participate after having submitted a sale, email citywidesale@coldlake.com and we will remove your sale from the website. It may take up to three business days to remove your sale from the map and website. |
I live in an apartment or condo. Can I still participate? |
Yes! You can hold your sale in the yard, parking lot, or elsewhere on the property, but you must have permission from the landlord, condo board or property owner. In past years, residents living in apartments, condos, or on streets with limited access have joined forces with friends or neighbours living in detached homes or townhouses to hold a sale. Social media is a great tool to find partners for the sale! |
When is the deadline for registration? |
Registration will remain open until Wednesday, August 21. Registrations received after this date may not be pinned on the online map. |
Who do I contact with questions? |
Email citywidesale@coldlake.com or call the Marketing & Communications department at 780-594-4494. |
