Energy Centre members: Registration for fitness class drop-ins opens Sunday each week. Please call the Energy Centre at 780-639-6400 to register for the upcoming week. Non-members: Please register online HERE or in person at the Energy Centre for the full class course, or call an hour before the class for availability for drop-ins.
Instructor-led fitness classes are free for Energy Centre membership holders, but a membership is not required to attend. Classes typically for eight weeks and can purchased by the full session or by paying individual class drop-in fees. Drop-in spots are limited and based on class capacity. Drop-in participants must pay their drop-in fee at the Energy Centre front desk no more than 30 minutes prior to the class start time. Abdominal Assault Get your heart rate high and your midsection toned with the combo cardio and core class. Using beginner to advanced midsection movements and cardiorespiratory activities, this class is perfect for anyone looking to add some much-needed movement into their training program Ashtanga Basics Yoga Ashtanga Yoga focuses on a dynamic and athletic physical practice that includes a fixed order of poses linked together with breath to form a continuous sequence. It is rooted with vinyasa, the flowing movement between postures, and will increase your physical strength, flexibility, and endurance while promoting mental clarity. The instructor demonstrates postures and modifications throughout this class alongside students. This class is a traditional practice and is moderate to high intensity. Fitness 101 Start or improve your fitness journey by learning about gym equipment usage, and proper techniques for squatting, bench pressing, pull ups, push ups, and more. We’ll explore muscle imbalances and instability within your joints, as well as acute or overuse injuries that require alternative exercises or modifications. HIIT Boot Camp A total-body strength and conditioning workout served up circuit style. New and varying body weight and weight movements introduced every class will keep your body guessing and fast track your fitness goals. All fitness levels welcome. HIIT Cycling In this high intensity class, participants will be led through various speed and resistance drills to achieve a heart-pumping cardio workout with tunes to motivate and energize along the way! Focusing on endurance, strength, intervals, and recovery, you will be challenged to strengthen your body and mind. Appropriate for all fitness levels, this class covers proper alignment and provides guidelines for gears, exertion, and RPMs for all drills. Mobility Training Level 1 Improve athletic performance and reduce risk of injury with this beginner class designed to identify and mobilize fascial restrictions within the body. Mobility training increases joint range of motion and reduces muscle tension and soreness while improving posture. Work alongside a Manual Osteopathic Therapist to discover how your body moves and take your training to a new level. Myofascial Release Class Roll away your tightness in this Myofascial Release (Foam Rolling) class. Different techniques will be explored as you learn about your own body and where some of your muscle tightness might be coming from. Power Hour Yoga An invigorating flow class that will help tone your body; build strength and stamina; and improve flexibility. Rejuvenate and re-energize your body by exploring and incorporating functional movement and proper alignment. This class challenges your body in hopes of calming your mind. All experience levels are welcome. Seniors’ Functional Training Helping seniors increase their capacity to perform daily living activities safely and with ease. This class addresses muscle imbalances, mobility, and strength through movements such as hinging, pushing, pulling, squatting, lunging, twisting, and walking. Sunrise Yoga Wake up and set the tone for your day in this early morning flow. Class starts slow, connecting breath and movement, then builds to create a little internal heat. This class fosters strength, flexibility and balance. You’ll leave class refreshed, centred and ready to start your day. All experience levels are welcome. TRX Power Hour Delivers a fast, effective total body workout that builds a rock-solid core, builds strength, balance, coordination, flexibility, joint stabilization and more. This class is great for people of all fitness levels. |
Cancellation Policy |
Fitness classes require at least three participants to run as scheduled. If the minimum class registration is not met, the class will be cancelled. Registrants will be contacted and their accounts will be credited. |
Withdrawing from a program |
Participants may withdraw from a full (8 week) program if written notice is provided at least 72 hours before the scheduled program start time. A service charge of $2.00 will be charged. A service charge of $10.00 will be charged for a full program withdrawal less than 72 hours before the start of the scheduled program. Withdrawal with no penalty or service charge will be considered on a case by case basis when the participant can produce:
All program withdrawals will be credited to the participant's account. Credits are available for up to six (6) months from the date of the withdrawal. Following six (6) months, the credit will expire. |
