Every spring, usually in the third week of May, we join municipalities across North America and around the world to recognize the work done by public works professionals. National Public Works Week 2022 is officially in the books and it was a huge success! Among the highlights this year:

• The Food Drive raised 475.6 kg. (1,049 pounds) of food and nearly $1,600 in cash donations for the Cold Lake Food Bank. Thanks to everyone who donated!
• The Community Clean up removed more than 210 kg. (463 pounds) of garbage from Cold Lake's streets and trails. Thanks to all the volunteers who rolled up their sleeves and pitched in!
• Free Compost Days continues until June 30. Residential customers can pick up 5 bags or 100 kilograms of garden compost at the Regional Waste Transfer Station free of charge. Bring a shovel and container.
• The Snow Mountain Contest is now closed. Thanks to everyone who entered! The winner will be selected as soon as Snow Mountain on 54 Avenue finally melts, or at the end of August, whichever comes first.
