Every spring, we join municipalities across North America and around the world to recognize the work done by public works professionals. The City will be hosting a number of events through the week to help educate the public and bring awareness to all the work that is done behind the scenes to keep our city running smoothly, safe and clean.
Join us at City Hall at 9:00AM on Friday, May 17 to kick off National Public Works Week with the annual flag raising ceremony.
On Thursday May 23, come visit The City of Cold Lake's Public Works Shop and learn about all the different functions that keep our city running and safe. Equipment will be on display and staff will be on hand to answer any questions from 9:00AM - 4:00PM.
Make sure you stay for the BBQ, hosted by our Public Works staff members from 11:00AM - 3:00PM. Donations for the Cold Lake Food bank will also be accepted. These can be in the form of non-perishable food items, or monetary donations.
Its that time of year to gather up all your old paint cans, batteries or broken electronics for The City's Toxic Round Up. On Saturday, May 25, bring all your hazardous waste to The City of Cold Lake's Public Works building and the staff will be sure it is disposed of safely.
In recognition of National Public Works Week, you are invited to take part in our annual spring clean up. Volunteers are encouraged to clean up an area of their choice at a time most convenient for them. Garbage bags and gloves are available for pick up at the Public Works Shop (1515 16 St.) on May 17 and May 21-24 from 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM only.
