LICA Forest Guide Tour In partnership with the LICA, the Parent Link will be at the Provincial Park for a guided tour.  Families will participate in a short nature walk to talk about native plants, outdoor safety as well as the animals that call our parks home.  Families will get an opportunity to investigate the nature around them and create a memento of natural materials to take home.  Please dress for the weather and bring a picnic lunch.  We will meet at the main parking lot by the beach.  Date:  Monday, July 22 Time:  10:00 AM – 12:00 PM Location:  Cold Lake Provincial Park Contact:  Cold Lake and District FCSS Cost:  Free, registration is required

Bounce Back, Social Relationships This new summer series gives participants all the skills they need to be resilient and to “bounce back: from difficulties in life.  Each session will feature an interactive learning component followed by fun themed activities and crafts to work on each life skill. Today we identify “ingredients” for a friendship pie.  All of our recipes may be different due to our preferences and interests, and that is ok!  We will learn how to make and keep friends, and how to get along with people we do not like.  The book “Enemy Pie” will help us understand what it means to be an enemy and how the character Jeremy became a friend.  In the afternoon, we will bake a pie of our own. Co-parenting: How to Develop a Co-parenting Plan This workshop addresses the importance for co-parents to design a collaborative co-parenting plan to ensure their children’s needs and interests are the focus and priority through separation/divorce and beyond.  Ideally parents should develop the parenting plan themselves, using the help of professionals focused on supporting their co-parenting efforts.  In this session, participants will have the opportunity to draft a co-parenting plan that will provide structure for how their children will be cared for by both parents.
