Cold Lake, AB – During the summer of 2022, the City of Cold Lake will maintain one ice surface at the Energy Centre for the community’s first season of indoor summer ice.
The City is working with stakeholder groups to understand the demand and work towards a programming schedule. The Energy Centre’s ice plant is designed to maintain summer ice and, in its 2020 budget, City Council allocated the money to operate the plant and maintain ice through the summer months.
City staff have been working with interested groups to make a suitable schedule that will meet the summer demand for ice time in the community. Pending demand, appropriate availability, and COVID-19 restrictions, public skating is also being considered over the summer.
Stakeholders interested in summer ice times are encouraged to contact the Energy Centre at energycentre@coldlake.com or at 780-639-6400.
