Cold Lake, AB – Are you prepared for an emergency?
Emergency Preparedness Week takes place May 2-6, 2022, and Cold Lake and District FCSS is hosting a free barbecue on Wednesday, May 4, to share resources on how we can be better prepared for emergencies.
“We are primarily focusing on 72-hour preparedness,” said FCSS Manager Kim Schmidtz. “Knowing what supplies you need to support you and your family for the first three days of an emergency is an excellent step towards preparedness.”
Resources will be available in multiple languages, along with other important takeaways on how a family or individual can be better prepared for emergency situations.
“Members of Cold Lake Fire-Rescue and our Emergency Support Services team will also be on site to raise awareness about emergency preparedness,” said Schmidtz. “Our community can ask them questions about fire safety, evacuations, and how they should prepare themselves in case of an emergency.”
The barbecue will take place on May 4, outside at Cold Lake and District FCSS from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., weather permitting. Everyone is invited to drop by and take part in the Emergency Preparedness Week celebrations.
