The 5th Annual Great Cold Lake Turkey Race |
Ruffles is back for the 5th Year! He’s ready to race to make this the best race ever by collecting funds to purchase 400 turkeys for the Cold Lake Food Bank’s Christmas Hamper Project! One hundred percent of all money raised goes directly to the Cold Lake Food Bank. Ruffles begins his race on Nov. 1 and will cross the finish line on Dec. 13. Watch for Ruffles at local events and follow his progress on the City of Cold Lake’s Facebook page. Donation forms can be found at www.coldlakecom or drop by Cold Lake and District FCSS. All ages |
LEGO™ Mania |
Participants will enjoy LEGO™-themed challenges that focus on problem solving as an individual and as a team. The challenges will allow youth to work on building a resiliency mindset while also developing social skills and creativity. Building Awareness of Workplace Bullying |
Join Linda Crockett, an award-winning expert in workplace psychological safety and injuries, as she presents trauma-informed solutions for addressing psychological harassment. Drawing from her extensive personal and professional experience, Linda is dedicated to fostering safer, more inclusive workplaces. Her innovative approach empowers organizations and individuals to maintain psychologically safe work environments. Ages 18+

Building Awareness Empowering Change in our Communities |
Join Linda Crockett, founder of the Canadian Institute of Workplace Bullying Resources, as she shares services offered to individual clients with dignity, inclusion, and integrity. Using evidence-based practices, Linda promotes openness and transparency. This free, one-hour session will cover the comparison and definitions between adult bullying and childhood bullying, highlighting signs and symptoms of those being targeted. There will also be an opportunity for a Q&A. Ages 18+

Cold Lake Youth Council |
Cold Lake Youth Council is a youth-led volunteer-based group, focused on social and civic advocacy that acts as a voice and as peer advocates for the young people of Cold Lake. They promote youth activism and civic engagement. Members develop communication and leadership skills, while supporting their community and making new friends. Ages 12-17

That Bites! |
That Bites! teaches youth how to make easy, healthy, and budget-friendly foods. This program is suitable for an individual or a pair to create together, dine together, and understand the importance of eating balanced meals on a budget. That Bites! will support youth transitioning into adulthood and help them gain the confidence to be in the kitchen safely. Ages 13-18

Mystic Tea |
An inclusive environment for young individuals to enjoy bubble tea, participate in creative crafting, and experience self-love card readings amidst a peaceful ambiance. This is an opportunity for youth to build connections with their peers while encouraging a distinct journey of wellness exploration with a focus on mindfulness. Community Friends |
This program is designed for adults with developmental or acquired disability, and community members who are interested in fostering community inclusivity. The program consists of monthly themed interactive social activities that inlcude games and crafts. At the beginning of each program there will be a short presentation on social skills development such as setting personal boundaries, conflict resolution, and expressing your needs. Participants are welcome to bring their caregivers as this is not a drop off program. Adults

Design a Button for Pink Shirt Day |
National Pink Shirt Day is Feb. 26, 2025. The purpose of Pink Shirt Day is to create a kind and inclusive world by raising awareness of Anti-Bullying initiatives in partnership with Cold Lake Bully Free Committee. We would like you to design a button that speaks of kindness and community. Entry forms are available at Cold Lake and District FCSS or online at coldlake.com. Active Parenting: The First Five Years |
The first five years of a child’s life are critical to their development. There are many influences that may impact your child’s attitude, personality, and care during these early years, which are fundamental to your child’s development. Learn how to encourage positive behaviours and avoid power struggles while supporting the growth of your resilient child. Over three sessions topics covered will include stages of development and building a loving bond, preventing tantrums, choices and consequences, discipline methods and the power of encouragement.
