With deep roots in the community, Councillor Vicky Lefebvre has called Cold Lake home for 33 years. She was first elected to City Council in 2010 and is serving her fourth term, having been re-elected in 2013, 2017 and 2021.
Vicky brings with her an extensive background in finance and community involvement. Born in Edmonton, she graduated from Grand Centre High School before beginning her career in banking with the GCCL Credit Union in Grand Centre. She started to work with Scotiabank in Leduc in 1979, where she received two certificates: Personal Financial Planning (PFP) and Personal Financial Counseling (PFC). Vicky returned to the Cold Lake branch twice and retired as Branch Manager in 2008.
When she is not at City Hall or attending an event in the community, Vicky spends much of her time volunteering. She has been the treasurer for the Grand Centre Lions Club, Dr. Margaret Savage Crisis Centre and Community Futures. Vicky also worked several years on the Business of the Year awards for the Chamber of Commerce, was a member of St. Dominic Parish Council and is on her fifth term with Lakeland Catholic School District.
In her spare time, she enjoys reading and taking courses at Portage College.
Although work and community involvement is important to Vicky, family tops the priority list. After meeting her husband Gilles in high school, they had two daughters and three grandchildren.
