Public Notice: Cold Lake returns to “open” status as local COVID numbers drop

Due to a decrease in COVID-19 cases locally, the City of Cold Lake has been moved from the Government of Alberta’s “watch” category to the “open” category.

The measures for communities in the “watch” and “enhanced” categories no longer apply in the City of Cold Lake. These included a 15-person limit on social and family gatherings, as well as a request to voluntarily limit the number of cohorts to which a person belongs to three, and to wear a mask in all indoor work settings.

All Albertans are being asked to keep gatherings small, socialize safely, monitor for any symptoms of COVID, and stay at home and get tested if sick. The Government of Alberta is also requesting that all Albertans download the ABTraceTogether application on their smartphones. The City of Cold Lake understands that the province is working to integrate the ABTraceTogether application with the federal application.

The city continues to work closely with provincial health authorities to monitor the situation and implement all required measures.
