Cold Lake, AB – The City of Cold Lake is updating its payment systems to allow for easier online payments of licenses and fees.
“We’re looking to improve the whole process, and make it more customer oriented,” said Mayor Craig Copeland. “With the improvements to our payment options, people will be able to apply for things like business licenses or development permits, and pay for them directly online, all in a couple of quick steps without the customer having to pay extra credit card fees.”

Cold Lake, AB – The curbside organics collection program is changing and expanding as the City introduces new, automated collection carts this spring. Similar to the current, grey waste cart program, the organics carts will have green lids and be emptied into collection vehicles using the Automated Waste Cart Collection System. Hydraulic arms lift the carts and empty them into the truck without the operator having to exit the vehicle.

Cold Lake, AB – Residents can soon get help with the Clean Energy Improvement Program (CEIP), after council approved administration to begin preparing a bylaw for the program.

Cold Lake, AB – After reviewing the City of Cold Lake’s taxi bylaw and comparing it to those passed in other municipalities, City Council has asked administration to consider changes that would increase transparency of taxi fares for customers, and allow for better enforcement of infractions.
During discussion of the taxi bylaw review at the Corporate Priorities Committee meeting on February 15, Council asked that changes to the bylaw be made requiring taxis to clearly display the fares they charge.
