Cold Lake, AB – During its May 28 regular meeting, City Council voted unanimously to set the 2024 municipal tax rates, resulting in an average municipal property tax increase of 4.98 per cent.
The 2024 residential tax rate was set at 8.3635, down from 8.4948 in 2023, the multi-family residential tax rate was also set at 8.3635, down from 9.0819, and the non-residential tax rate was set at 13.5079, up from 13.1707 in 2023.

Cold Lake, AB – At its May 28, 2024, regular meeting, council debated the latest recommendations of the Community Grant Advisory Committee.
A total of $40,300 was awarded to 11 groups through the Community Recreation, Art, Culture and Heritage Investment Grant Policy (CRACH) funding streams.

Cold Lake, AB – After several complaints throughout the winter regarding residential sidewalk snow removal, council looked at the City’s bylaws and policies to determine if changes were needed, as administration plans for the next winter season.
“Municipal Enforcement was very proactive this winter,” said Mayor Craig Copeland. “They got out into the neighbourhoods to look around and make sure people knew they were supposed to be clearing the snow instead of waiting for complaints to come in.”
