Cold Lake, AB – Cold Lake blossomed to the fullest and took home first place in Communities in Bloom nationally.

Cold Lake, AB – The doors to the Animal Care and Control Centre (ACCC) have been closed to the public for the past week, as an outbreak of distemper in the community has been made its way into the facility.
In an effort to control the spread of the disease, which was unknown at the time, staff closed the doors to the public, and took extra precautions when caring for the animals inside. Animals were checked for several diseases, including Parvo, which came back negative. Further testing...

Cold Lake, AB – Wearing helmets while operating off-highway vehicles (OHV) in the city was a topic of discussion at the most recent Corporate Priorities Committee meeting.
Council members were briefed on current provincial laws, as well as city bylaws regarding helmet and OHV use, and asked for feedback regarding city staff requirements, increased fines for residents not following bylaw, and potential exemptions to the bylaw.

Cold Lake, AB – Over 100 cats and 100 dogs have been brought to the Animal Care and Control Centre since the beginning of this year.
In an update to council on Sept. 19, city administration presented information on animal intake, care, licensing, and other factors the ACCC has seen since January.
