Cold Lake, AB – A City policy that grants seniors a property tax rebate has been amended to expand the program’s eligibility and standardize the payments.
At its May 24 meeting, City Council voted in favour of the proposed amendments to the Seniors’ Homeowner Rebate Policy. Cold Lake, AB – Residents looking to the sky this weekend may notice an increase in personal aircraft flying over Cold Lake.
On Saturday, June 4, the Alberta Air Tour makes a stop at the Cold Lake Regional Airport (CEN5), bringing with it over 40 aircraft from across Alberta, including aerobatic, fighter, and racing planes.

Cold Lake, AB – City Council has committed $85,000 to the construction of a performing arts theatre in Bonnyville that looks to serve the entire Lakeland region.
The proposed venue is being developed by the Clayton Bellamy Foundation for the Arts, a non-profit organization founded by singer-songwriter and Bonnyville native Clayton Bellamy in 2021. Cold Lake, AB – City Council has found a home for the Cold Lake Sailing Association at Kinosoo Beach.
After hearing from the association about its future plans at a council meeting delegation, City Council directed administration to work with the group to identify a suitable location for the association to store its boats and equipment. The Cold Lake Sailing Association is planning to hold sailing lessons and requested a space where the boats, equipment and other supplies could be stored.

Cold Lake, AB – At its regular meeting held this week, City Council set the municipal tax rates for 2022, which will result in an average municipal tax increase of 3.15 per cent.
The 2022 residential tax rate is set at 8.7765, down from 8.8555 in 2021, the multi-family residential rate is 8.9312, down from 8.9470, and the non-residential rate is set at 12.7760 from 12.7975.
