Cold Lake, AB – Cold Lake City Council considered several grant requests at its meeting this past Tuesday, accepting recommendations made by the Community Grant Advisory Committee.
Council approved a total of $17,087.69 in grants, some as recommended by the Community Grant Advisory Committee, and others which the committee felt that council should consider without a recommendation.

Cold Lake, AB – Cold Lake has won a national award for its National Public Works Week celebrations – for a fifth time.
The Canadian Public Works Association (CPWA) has awarded the City of Cold Lake with the 2023 National Public Works Week award for Community under 25,000, during its annual meeting at the end of August.

Cold Lake, AB – Two new personal-use water stations have been installed in Cold Lake this summer.
Residents may have already spotted these new additions – one at Kinosoo Beach, and one in the downtown sector.
“We wanted to provide residents and visitors with a place to fill their water bottles or have access to fresh drinking water,” said Mayor Craig Copeland. “So far, these stations have had a lot of usage.”

Cold Lake, AB – Lakeshore Drive improvements are on the horizon, after city administration provided an update to City Council during the Aug. 8 regular meeting regarding the progress of the Lakeshore Drive Infrastructure Improvement Project.

Approved Rural Renewal Stream applications total 54
Cold Lake, AB – The City of Cold Lake’s Economic Development Advisory Committee (EDAC) approved 27 applications to the Cold Lake Rural Renewal stream at its August 10 meeting, bringing the total number of applications approved to 54.
