Cold Lake, AB – Council has set aside money in the form of a seed grant in the amount of $25,000 for the development of a baby box program at Covenant Health’s Bonnyville Health Centre. A baby box is typically a safe and secure location for parents in crisis to confidentially surrender their infants to healthcare professionals.

Council passes 2025 Capital and Operating budgets

Cold Lake, AB – Cold Lake City Council passed its 2025 Capital and Operating Budgets on Tuesday, as council continues to grapple with increasing costs while trying to pass as little of the inflationary pressure on to taxpayers.

Notice of application to be filed for approval of natural gas distribution agreement within City

The Alberta Utilities Commission expects to receive an application from ATCO Gas and Pipelines Ltd. to approve the existing current and valid natural gas distribution franchise agreement with the City of Cold Lake.  This application for approval is required due to changes made by the Utilities Affordability Statutes Amendment Act, 2024, to various statutes governing franchise agreements.
