Temporary Road Closures

A temporary road closure can be approved to accommodate construction activity, a block party or a special event in the City of Cold Lake. Applications must be received at least two weeks prior to the proposed date of the closure (two month is the case of a special event) and, depending on the reason for the closure, may be advertized in the local newspaper and require one or more of the following: a development permit, damage deposit or proof of insurance.

All road closure notices are sent to Emergency Services in an effort to ensure that optimum emergency response times are maintained throughout the community. The process also allows City of Cold Lake staff to coordinate the delivery of municipal services in affected areas.
